Caribbean Tour 2004Sunday, February 22, 2004
We had an incredible quizmeet. Thank you so much for your prayers. Everyone was so blessed. Guitars, songs, Tyler quizzing out without error (too bad he couldn´t do that at the last Internationals), gringo Spanish (Leighton´s Spanish is actually really good), verses, dramas, testimonies, gifts, talking with nationals - buenos tiempos (good times).
Today is a big outreach service at 5-6:30 eastern time. We´re doing it all and the nice thing is it´s in English. I´m so excited to see what is going to happen. We have a lot of prayer and work into this service. Pray for Curtis as he speaks on the hope of God (Romans 5). Also we need prayer to get some more dramas, puppet plays, songs, messages and other stuff for services Tue-Fri. In all, working with the team is amazing. Everyone is great. We (Shannon, Patricia, Leighton, Tyler, Curtis and I) thank you for your prayers. And my parents (Tom and Judy) want to thank the Outlook people as Richard and Hope really appreciated their new toy. Keep you updated later. Steve Vincent Wednesday, February 18, 2004
Hi friends!
Well, the day has finally arrived and we will be heading to Toronto this evening. Tomorrow morning we will be leaving for the Caribbean and I'm so excited and nervous. A quick reminder to say a prayer for us at 12:30 Saskatchewan time on Thursday the 19th as we cross customs. I was away on business last week so this weekend was a crazy scramble to finish preparations but the balls are in, the puppets are ready, and we're almost off. Now it is up to our small team to listen for God's leading and go where He tells us. I'm sure this will be a fabulous mountain top experience for all of us. And thankfully we'll get to experience it at +30 degrees! Well, adios to you all. We'll keep you updated as much as possible so keep checking this site! Shannon Sunday, February 15, 2004
Well folks,
Time is winding down on preperation here, and I just want to thank you for all your prayers. I can't help but feel unworthy in all this, and only by God's grace will we be of any value, so it's probably good I realized this before we hit Cuba. But in any case, preparations are good. We have a guitar to take down, and music prepared, and I finally know what I want to talk about for at least one testimony, so that is great. Other than that, I have lots of funds, and I might even consider buying a couple of baseball bats here, because we need something. So yeah, thanks again for your prayers, and we have been blessed by you guys. Tyler Tuesday, February 10, 2004
Hey everybody,
It was so nice to see you all at Russel even if it was for a very short time. I was very encouraged by your prayers and support, I don't think we could do it with out you. I am going to Stienbach Bible College and it has been very busy, I haven't really had much time to let it sink in that in less than ten days we are there. My school works on a module system so this week we have exams, I have just finished my last couple of homework assignments so now I'm starting to prepare even more for next week, now I have more time to think about it. I just ask that you would pray that I would have wisdom when preparing, that I wouldn't waste time with useless stuff but that I would know what to prepare and work on. Please pray that I will be able to learn some more Spanish. I'm also not sure where I am with my support although I'm trusting God and I am sure that He will provide. Thank you so much for your prayers already, when I feel unsure and wonder what posessed me to go, I remember why I'm doing this. Not for me but for God and for all of you who support us from here. I pray that we will be able to be good representatives for you while we are there. Serving together Patricia Phil. 1:3-6 Sunday, February 08, 2004
Friends of us,
Things are crazy busy around here. Only 10 days left. That really didn't sink in today. But now I am absolutely pumped up. I can't believe that we are going to be on the Island in just a few short days. Preparations continue to take time, and all sorts of other things are keeping me busy, but just pray that through the busyness, that I would be able to find time for God, because ultimately, he is the reason for us going, and the trip will be a total failure without his guidance. Thanks for your prayers already guys, they mean a lot to me, especially on the days when I get discouraged over how much I have to do, or scared about certain aspects of the trip, or when I feel so unworthy, and useless. Your prayers have picked me up on numerous occasions, and I love you all for it. Trusting in God, (Romans 15:13) Tyler Friday, February 06, 2004
Well folks,
The support for my trip to the Carribean has been unbelievable. God has provided me with an overwhelming amount of money. Over $2000. Praise the Lord. God is even providing in subtle ways. We needed a dozen baseballs at the Russell quiz meet. We arrived home, where I found a dozen brand new baseballs waiting for me. Also, I have been blessed with several opportunities to serve God with the talents he has given me. Whether it be with my guitar and voice, or the possibility of preaching a sermon. I know God is looking out for us, and keep praying. I love all of you guys, and keep up the quizzing. You will never regret putting away God's word. Tyler Archives |
