CMQ News and UpdatesNews, information and notices concerning Canadian Midwest Quizzing.Wednesday, August 27, 20082008 Study Schedule
The 2008-2009 Luke Study Schedule has been posted to the website. For those churches wishing to start a week later, the two sections of Luke chapter 2 could be combined into one week.
We are looking for churches to host the local one day meets on Saturday Sept.27 or Oct.4. We have a possible meet location for the eastern area of the district, but we still need host churches for the southern and northern areas. If you are interested, please contact one of the CMQ committee members. Thank you. We are currently updating the CMQ general email distribution list. If you get an email whenever we update the website and no longer wish to receive this information, please let us know. Also, if you know someone who needs to be added to our email distribution list, you can contact us at email directoryATcmdquizzing.org. (Replace the AT with @.) We hope everyone is excited about a new quizzing year on the book of Luke. This bulletin from the CMQ committee will help answer some of the quiz questions that are often asked in late summer.
- Resource material including scripture portions on the book of Luke with key verses and words are available from Bryan Orthner through his website quizhelper.com. The Club 145 verses are highlighted with a dark shading; the Club 300 verses are highlighted with a light shading. - As announced at the May final quiz meet CMQ committee has endorsed a policy for 2008-09 that would see district quizzers return to the church where their parents attend. Hopefully, new and existing teams will grow through this and encourage the congregation there to support quizzing. There is still the provision for an A side quizzer in their local church without an A side team, to practice and compete with a nearby quizzing church within their zone. As well occasionally, a smaller local church team may need to involve a grade 6 quizzer. This is only permissible upon approval from the CMQ committee. Implementation of the above guidelines are needed to help facilitate our new PLAN TO PROTECT POLICY and the required buildings and leadership to host future quiz meets. Please note in the soon to be posted quiz year schedule that we currently have no confirmed locations in Saskatchewan for any of the meets until March second districts. |
