CMQ News and Updates

We would like to have even numbers of people at the upcoming Regina and Swift Current meets. We are trying to achieve a limit of about 250 people for each meet. It looks like we will have more people at the Regina meet than the Swift Current meet. If there are any churches that were invited to the Regina meet that would be willing and available to attend the Nov.16-18 meet in Swift Current instead of the Nov.9-11 meet at Westhill Park, please contact the registration email address below.

The November zone meets are fast approaching. The next zone meets will be Nov.9-11 in Regina at Westhill Park and Nov,16-18 in Swift Current at Trailview Alliance. There is a list below of which churches will be invited to which meet. Regina churches and east will be invited to Westhill Park and Saskatoon churches and west will be invited to Swift Current.

Question material content for both meets will include up to the end of Galatians chapter 6 with 15 question quizzes in the A, B, and C divisions. Quizzers need to bring sleeping bags and pillows and towels as well any personal items required for the meets. Luggage needs to be identified with each quizzer’s name and church group.

Quiz meet at Westhill Park in Regina, Nov.9-11

Registration will be 6:30 to 7:30 on Friday, Nov.9. The meet will wrap up after lunch (10:45-11:45 a.m.) on Sunday. The cost is $25 per person. Registrations are due Tuesday, Oct.30. We need this time to prepare billeting for all of the quizzers and coaches attending. Please download and fill out the form for the meet you are attending and then return it to the appropriate email address.

The social for the Westhill Park meet will be bowling. Coaches will be responsible to transfer the quizzers to and from the bowling alley. If there will not be a vehicle available for your quizzers or if you will have extra room for additional quizzers on Saturday night, please mark that on your registration form.

Quiz meet at Trailview Alliance in Swift Current, Nov.16-18

Registration for the meet will be 6:30 to 7:30 on Friday, Nov.16. The meet will wrap up after brunch (10:15-11:15 a.m.) on Sunday. The cost is $25 per person. Registrations are due Tuesday, Nov.6. We need this time to prepare billeting for all of the quizzers and coaches attending. We are collecting the information for the 2007 – 2008 Canadian Midwest Quizzing Directory. This directory contains a list of all the churches involved with quizzing in the Canadian Midwest District. For each church, the coaches and their contact information is listed along with the names, grades, and gender of each of the quizzers. This information is used by the committee and host churches to plan quiz meets.

This directory will be handed out at the November quiz meet and mailed to the head coaches of the churches not in attendance. This information will not be posted on the website.

In order to prepare the directory, we need each of the head coaches to fill out the following form and send it to the email listed below as soon as possible. We need to receive all of the information by Monday Oct.29, in order to prepare the directory for use at the November meets.

Here are a couple of guidelines to clarify the process:

1. Please list all of the coaches involved with your church quizzing group. We need the contact information for the head coach and will gladly include the contact information for the other coaches if it is supplied.

2. If the contact information is the same as what is listed on the 2006-2007 Canadian Midwest Quizzing directory, simply list the coach’s name and say “no change” under the contact information.

3. List all quizzers involved with your quizzing program. If the quizzers do not attend meets, they can still be included on the directory.
