CMQ News and UpdatesNews, information and notices concerning Canadian Midwest Quizzing.Wednesday, January 31, 2007Photo Gallery is working again
With apologies from the technical support folk, I've finally gotten the photo gallery completely back online. At least as far as I can tell. If you have photos you've been trying to get into the Gallery please try them again.
If you have problems, you can let me know by reporting them to the CDAC Help Desk and I'll get them fixed in real time. Again, sorry about the frustration of the photo gallery of late. The WebGuy - Gord Monday, January 29, 2007Many thanks for the CDA Meet!
The Sunday special offering to accompany the ministry team totalled $3,065.00
Almost everyone must have participated as CMQ treasurer noted that there were an extremely large number of bills and coins given as tokens of love and encouragement to our less fortunate island believers. Thankyou for your great reponse. Thankyou also from the committee to all the CDA people who helped make the meet such a success. ( The homemade egg patty muffins for the after church brunch were a new quiz meet menu favorite.) The corrected stats are up with Dallas and Blake's individual averages now awarded. We trust everyone arrived home before the southern storm worsened. Tuesday, January 23, 2007
New Question Type for 2006 - 07 Quizzing Year
This year the Christian and Missionary Alliance has introduced two new question types at the international level. We will be using these question types at our Canadian Midwest quiz meets. There will now be two verse quotes and two verse finish the verse questions. These question types will follow the same rules as quotes and finish the verses, but the quizzers will be required to recite two verses instead of one. We now have the editing ability so that only Club 145 verses will be used for two verse quotes and finish the verses in the C division. Saturday, January 06, 2007January CDA Meet Registration
The first quiz meet of 2007 will be held Jan. 26-28 at Circle Drive Alliance Church in Saskatoon. Registration will be 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The meet will wrap up after lunch (12 p.m.) on Sunday. The cost will be $25 per person. Registrations are due Thursday, Jan. 18. We need this time to prepare billeting for all of the quizzers and coaches attending. Please download and fill out the registration form and then return it to the appropriate email address below. Make sure to list the number of teams in each division and include any vehicles that can be used to transport quizzers to billets.
Question material content for both meets will include up to the end of Acts chapter 12 with 20 question quizzes in the A, B, and C divisions. This will also be the first district meet of the Acts quizzing year with 15% of the "A" quizzers personal averages going towards their overall year average. Quizzers need to bring sleeping bags and pillows as well any personal items required for the meets. Luggage needs to be identified with each quizzer's name and church group. We plan to heat up January with a Caribbean style social. We encourage everyone to dress for the Caribbean - pirates and tacky tourists are just some of the people we are expecting. Encourage everyone to be creative with their costumes. The social will be held at the church with Caribbean style games in the gym, a karaoke and juice bar, and a daring mission impossible game for the adventurous sort. The evening will be topped off with a special speaker from the Caribbean - Richard Reichert. We will also be doing a send off for the ministry team leaving for our favorite Caribbean island in February. If you have questions or concerns with meet location, arrival time, or completing the registration form, please contact Angela Davis. Please download the CDA_2007.rtf registration form. (www.cmdquizzing.org/info/CDA_2007.rtf) Then email the completed registrations to: quiz.registrationsATcmdquizzing.org (replace the AT with an @) NOTE: Because of a huge increase in spam to the quizzing email addresses, we're trying to be less obvious to the bad guy's email collection programs. So, we apologize that we aren't just making the email a clickable link any more. Monday, January 01, 2007New Years News
