Meet Update
Sorry for the confusion over the registration for this meet. For some reason the new information about the Brandon meet did not automatically go from the website to all the coaches as it usually does. Thanks those of you for checking the website and getting your registrations in. However, we still haven't heard from Avalon, Ebenezer, Humboldt, Leader, Nipawin, Outlook and Rosewood. The registration link is now on the website please fill it in and return it by Sat so Brandon can check the number of billets they need before Sunday. Also, the draw needs to be made this weekend. Information for Brandon, MB Quiz Meet Feb 3-5
Teams who have reserved seats on the busses need to immediately forward their cheques to Angela Gabruch in Saskatoon at $40 per person and Merv Hepting in Regina at $30 per person. Please do not include the additional $25 registration fee for the meet in this payment. There is no further room for other teams to go on these busses, however, some individual quizzers have requested to be put on a wait list in the event that there are reduced numbers from the current reservations. Registration for CMD's First District Quiz Meet in Brandon at McDiarmid Drive Alliance Church is from 6:30-7:30 pm Friday Feb 3. Cost is $25 for all quizzers, coaches & guests with 1 coach from each church paying for their teams upon arrival. Quizzes will be 20 ques. using the material from Romans chap 1-12 inclusive. Coaches please register on line your teams in A, B or C divisions by Jan 23. If you can, please mark in the team # of each quizzer. Also, when filling out the registration sheet please note the size of vehicle you have to help transport quizzers to their billets. Quizzers need to bring personal items & sleeping bags with all their baggage plainly identified on the outside with their name and church. Donna Epp, billet coordinator will attempt to fill your billet preferances but keep in mind that placing over 400 people is an insurmountable task. Sat night social is a choice between 3 events: 1. a coffee house with a live band 2. a beautiful swimming complex 3. an outdoor park with ice skating or glow in the dark frisee. Ice skates and swimming apparel for events 2 and 3 must be brought by the individual quizzers desiring to do this. Coaches should fill in their estimated numbers for each event on their registration forms. Even though we will try and use the charter busses for these close proximity events some drivers will be required to take their vehicles. A touring group called Replica from Millar College of the Bible will be providing ministry for both Sat night and Sun am. Quizzers will return to McDiarmid Dr church at 9:30 am Sun to pack busses and vans. Following the morning service everyone will receive bag lunches in their vehicles as they depart. Because of the large number to billet area hotels may be a good option for some adults. Check this website and reserve early as there is another city wide event taking place this weekend. www.brandonhotels.worldweb.com/index.html CMQ sincerely appreciates the willingness of McDiarmid Drive Alliance leaders and quiz coaches to undertake this big event on short notice. An excellent, exciting quiz meet is planned and they deserve our constant prayers and cooperation. Final Note from Ed & Donna Epp " we look forward to hosting this quiz meet and hope you enjoy your time in Brandon. See you soon!"
