Local Quizzers continue to look beyond our District
82 teams met for competition and fellowship in Regina at Living Hope. New stats have been posted. Organizers were kept busy feeding approx 450 people in their new building which easily facilitated 10 quizzing rooms. Host church coaches & quizzers provided a great praise and worship time Sat night. During the day lounges and hallways were a buzz with over 50 quizzers signing up for the Easter break Great West Tournament in Calgary while another 20 individuals were using their french speaking abilities in an interview process for a promotional team to Quebec. Sat night also saw the Feb 04 island team featured with a video, song & drama and Tyler Gray delivering the devotional. Here's some further answers to prayer that weren't mentioned that night and they correspond to pictures in the photo gallery under Living Hope meet photos. 1. Ernesto had successful stomach surgery the day after the team arrived. He missed the quiz meet but Mildrey was very capable. Even though the surgery procedure was extreme he was recovering very quickly and we had 2 visits with him a week later in his home. He has to take it real easy for a month so his new laptop and question writing program for Romans and James was most appreciated. At the final quiz meet our CMQ team distributed over 100 new scripture portions and we're praying Ernesto will soon be well enough to start distributing the other 300 portions and 4 jump seats he received. 2. All the sports equipment arrived. Special thanks to Shannon's company for nearly 100 baseballs & hats and to Erindale quiz team for the 3 dozen sports balls. It was sure fun giving them out. 3. Praise God as over $7,000 was delivered by the team for house church projects and workers needs. 4. Prayers for team's creativity were answered as puppet plays and dramas and other means of ministering to children were successful. 5. The unity God gave the team was exceptional and our fun times really helped. (Last pics in the photo gallery) Saturday, March 06, 2004
