Feb 10 Surgery for Ernesto

Richard Reichert on the island has just sent word that Ernesto has a hospital bed for tomorrow and that he is taking him there. Ernesto has been better and is in good spirits. Our encouragement and many prayers have definitely helped him. Please pray tomorrow for a successful surgery and healing. The CMQ ministry team is still hopeful that he will be able to lead with us their final quiz tournament on the book of John Feb 20-21.

Storm Airs Out Before Russell Meet

A huge snow storm with blizzard conditions entered Sask Fri morning causing 40 teams from western & southern SK to miss the first District Quiz Meet at Russell MB. However, the remaining 53 district teams ranging from La Ronge in the north to Dryden ON in the east enjoyed a wonderful meet provided by the willing people of Russell Alliance and surrounding area. Quizzing was competitive, see stats, with Avalon winning the championship round, which had 22 A teams registered. Sat night as usual was a highlight with new snow and milder temps on the ski hill and 10 local quizzers involved in the Praise & Worship time. Sun am saw the announcement and commissioning of the Feb 19-29 Cuba ministry team. Approx $900 was given thru the offering to accompany the team for the projects on the island.

We missed all of you that were storm stayed in SK however, the committee announced at the outset of the meet that any A side quizzer not there would now receive 35% of their average from our next 2nd District meet in Regina towards their yearly district average.

Hope to see you all then!
