Western CMQ meet – Nov, 8 to 10, 2019 – Outlook, Sask.

Registration and quizzing, as well as lunch on Saturday, will take place at Lutheran Collegiate Bible Institute (LCBI) at Ash Street and 4th Avenue in Outlook. Everything else will take place at Outlook Alliance Church.

Because many of the men and boys will be billeted at LCBI, they won’t have billet homes to feed them breakfast.  To help with this, each church is asked to bring two dozen muffins.  Gluten-free muffins are already taken care of. Please remember the muffins must be nut free.

We will be outside on Saturday for the social. Please be sure that you and your quizzers bring warm clothing!

It’s a new Bible quizzing year and it’s time for our first weekend quiz meets. Our tradition is to kick off the year with two quiz meets, dividing our district in half, more or less. This year, we will have an eastern and a western quiz meet.

On Nov. 8 to 10, Outlook Alliance Church, 500 Conquest, Outlook, Sask., will host teams from these churches:

Assiniboia, Avalon, Erindale, Fairhaven, Hillcrest, Hillside, Holy Family, La Ronge, Living Hope, Melfort, Nipawin, Outlook (hosts), Prince Albert, Rosthern, TDAC, Trailview, Vanguard and Westgate.

Head coaches, please complete the registration form for all your coaches, quizzers and chaperones and return the form to outlook.regATcmdquizzing.org (replace AT with @). Deadline for registration is Wed., Oct. 30.

Officials also need to register but not with the registration form. Email denverandjanetteATgmail.com (replace AT with @).

A few more details:

  • Check-in will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. on Fri., Oct. 25.
  • There will be 15-question quizzes in two divisions. We are going to continue with the combined A/B division for all non-rookie quizzers. For the purposes of familiarity, we will be calling it the AB division. The rookie division will remain the C division.
  • Plans for the social are being finalized. Coaches will be responsible for the transporting of their quizzers to and from the social. More details will follow in the next week or so.
  • We will always do our best to accommodate billeting requests, but please know that we are bound by our Plan to Protect Policy, which carries some implications. Please keep in mind that men can only be billeted with boys and women can only be billeted with girls. Husband/wife together can be billeted with boys or girls.  Coaches and officials who plan to regularly attend meets should also plan to attend Plan to Protect training, which will be held at lunch on Saturday.
