Hey CMD! Happy New Year!
The First District Meet is being held at Calvary Temple in Winnipeg (440 Hargrave St.), February 2-4, 2018. Check-in will happen from 6:30 to 7:30 on Friday evening, after which the meet will begin.
The cost for this meet is $45 per participant, except officials. This does include any spectators or chaperones who are participating in the meet; however, if a spectator is not eating meals or being billeted at the meet, they are welcome to come and watch. If you do have any such folks repping your teams, I encourage you to get in touch with our officials coordinator (aaronmacphersonATlive.ca – replace AT with @) to see if he has anywhere they might want to help out.
The social for this meet will be swimming (fun! We haven’t done that in a while!). So please remind your quizzers that they should bring appropriate attire for such event. This may also be a good chance for you as head coaches to have everyone’s favourite talk—dressing modestly.
Everyone registered via a super-snazzy Google form this year. Thank you all so much for bearing with me while I figured out the implications of how that could benefit us. You’ll notice that the registration form looks pretty much the same as last year. That’s primarily because I’m still working on a method to streamline the process, and it’s conflicting with my full-time job ;). For each quizzer you already registered, I only need name, gender, and relevant medical concerns—these include dietary or billeting restrictions such as nut allergies or animal allergies. However, any other medical concerns that only become relevant in emergency situations don’t need to be listed. These are contained in the master list from when you registered.
Please fill out the registration form found HERE, and send it to calvary.regATcmdquizzing.org (replace AT with @), by Tuesday, January 23, 2018. If you are a team that practices on Wednesdays or Thursdays, please let me know if you’ll need an extra day or two to complete your registration; it helps me to know it’s on your radar!
