It looks like we will have enough rooms on campus for the girls and the female chaperons and we are working on obtaining enough billet homes for the boys and coaches in Regina. If any coaches or officials have friends or relatives in Regina that they could make arrangements to stay with, it would help with our billeting situation. Please indicate this on your registration form. Thank you. Saturday, April 12, 2008Great West Individual Results

Saturday, March 08, 2008Great West Applications
Once again, the Great Western Canadian meet is approaching! Any quizzers wanting to participate in the meet on April 11-13 need to fill out the application form and email it to greatwest AT cmdquizzing.org. Applications must be in by March 26. All quizzers and coaches will be notified about participation in the head-to-head meet and the Great Western Canadian meet by March 28. Any coaches wishing to participate please send us an email with your contact information and let us know what roles you are willing to play. Also, let us know what your previous out-of-district experience has been (if any).
UPDATE: The greatwest AT cmdquizzing.org email address has now (Saturday, March 15th) been re-activated. If you have emailed your application before Saturday afternoon, please send it again to ensure we receive it. All received applications will be acknowledged, so if you haven't heard anything back, try sending your application again. Sorry for the mixup! Tuesday, February 12, 2008March Erindale Meet Registration Information
The next quiz meet is fast approaching. It will be held Mar. 7-9 at Erindale Alliance Church in Saskatoon, SK. Registration will be 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The meet will wrap up after lunch on Sunday. (Lunch is at 11:45 a.m.)
REGISTRATIONS ARE DUE TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 26, 2008. Please download and fill out the registration form and return it to the registration email address. Make sure to list the number of teams in each division and include any vehicles that can be used to transport quizzers to billets. Because the Erindale quiz meet is held in Saskatoon, we need confirmation on 2 additional items to help the planning of the meet run smoother. 1. Please ensure that your quizzers need billets before filling out the registration form. It is fine if you arrange with their parents for them to stay with someone else, but we need to know ahead of time so that we are not looking for billets that we don't need and cancelling on billets at the last moment. 2. We need each coach to indicate the number of people (quizzers and coaches) who will require lunch on Sunday. In the past the numbers for Sunday lunch have been significantly lower than the meal numbers for the rest of the weekend. The cost will be $25 per person. Coaches, please bring one cheque for the registrations of your church group. This will help the registration process to run smoother. The cheques can be made out to “Canadian Midwest Quizzing” or “CMQ”. Quiz masters, scorekeepers, and answer judges are not required to pay the registration for this meet. Question material content will include Galatians, Ephesians, and Philippians with 20 question quizzes in the A, B, and C divisions. This will be the second district meet of the GEPC quizzing year with 20% of the “A” quizzers personal averages going towards their overall year average. Quizzers need to bring winter gear, sleeping bags, pillows, and any personal items required for the meet. Luggage needs to be identified with each quizzer’s name and church group. The social will be a carnival held at Erindale Alliance Church. Come prepared for lots of fun and games. There will be cool prizes that can only be won in you participate in the carnival. The cost for the carnival is included in the registration fee. Special speakers have been arranged for the weekend. Tim Thiessen, Erindale’s youth pastor, will speaking Saturday evening and Steve Vincent will be speaking Sunday morning. Erindale Alliance Church is in the eastern part of Saskatoon at 310 Perehudoff Crescent. If you have questions or concerns with completing the registration form, please contact Angela Davis. The Great West quizzing tournament in Calgary will be held April 11-12 NOT March 28-29 as noted in this years schedule. Quizzer's interested in going are reminded that they must register in the A division for Second District's Meet at Erindale Alliance Church in Saskatoon Mar 7-9.
Internationals will be held July 8-13 at Summit Grove Camp in New Freedom, PA Wednesday, January 30, 2008REMINDER FOR S'TOON & REGINA RIDERS
Two Sask Transportation buses will leave Feb 1 Friday noon for Brandon from Circle Drive Alliance parking lot. Quizzers will need to load their well marked belongings at 11:30 am and must have their $60 payment already paid. The first stop these buses will make will probably be at Moosomin, Sk at about 4:15. This town has less fast food favorites for complete suppers so we are recommending that all passengers bring a bag lunch. There is no need for these buses to lose traveling time by stopping in Regina.
The STC bus from Regina will leave Feb 1 Friday at 3 pm from Living Hope Alliance parking lot. Merv Hepting will be in charge and each passenger needs to load their well marked belongings at 2:30 pm and have already paid their $60. This bus may not stop for supper until Brandon, so bag lunches are recommended. We would ask all CMD quizzing people to continue to pray for improved weather for our traveling and socials. As well please remember our feature ministering group for the weekend from Miller Memorial Bible College. Saturday, January 26, 2008Brandon Social Choice
Coaches, in order to properly prepare for the Saturday night social at the Brandon quiz meet, we will need you to indicate each quizzers' social choice Friday night at registration (Feb.1). The quizzers may choose one of the following: swimming, skating at an outdoor oval, or a coffee house. Please be prepared with the numbers of people from your church who are interested in each event. Thank you.
Tuesday, January 22, 2008More Information about the Brandon Meet
McDiarmid Drive Alliance Church is pleased to announce that the quizzers will now have 3 different choices for the Saturday night social - swimming, outdoor skating, or a coffee house organized by their college & career. Also for your information, the Sunday morning service will conclude at 11:30 a.m. with a pick-up lunch following.
Thank you to all the coaches who have already registered for the meet. We would like to remind the other coaches that registrations for the Brandon meet are due today. Wednesday, January 16, 2008BRANDON BUSES
Many quiz teams have now registered for the First District Quiz Meet Feb 1-3 in Brandon. Does everyone have their travel plans in place? For those teams who have insufficient private vehicles there are still seats available on both the Saskatoon and Regina buses. The cost is $60 per person and purchased reservations should be made through the local church coach to CMQ asap.
Tuesday, January 08, 2008January Brandon Meet Registration Information
The first quiz meet of 2008 will be held Feb. 1-3 at McDiarmid Drive Alliance Church in Brandon, Manitoba. Registration will be 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday. We will also be quizzing in the school across the street from the church. Quizzers will need to remove their shoes to go into the school so they need to bring inside only shoes if they want to wear footwear in the school. The meet will wrap up after brunch on Sunday.
REGISTRATIONS ARE DUE TUESDAY, JANUARY 22, 2008. Please download and fill out the registration form and return it to the registration email address. Early registrations are appreciated as they greatly assist with the billeting process. Make sure to list the number of teams in each division and include any vehicles that can be used to transport quizzers to billets. Question material content will include Galatians, Ephesians, and Philippians chapter 1 with 20 question quizzes in the A, B, and C divisions. This will be the first district meet of the GEPC quizzing year with 15% of the “A” quizzers personal averages going towards their overall year average. Quizzers need to bring winter gear, sleeping bags, pillows, any personal items required for the meets, and skates or swimming suits. Luggage needs to be identified with each quizzer’s name and church group. Erin Petty, officials’ coordinator, would appreciate knowing about any adults coming to the meet that would be available to help with some of the officiating as scorekeepers or answer judges. It is sometimes difficult to get enough officials for meets that are not held in Saskatoon or Regina. There are two events planned for the social at Brandon. Quizzers can choose to go swimming or they can go skating at the outside skating oval. Coaches will need to assist with transporting the quizzers to and from the social activity. If you have questions or concerns with completing the registration form, please contact Angela Davis. Send registrations to: quiz.registrationATcmdquizzing.org Replace the AT with @. Crown College Tournament Jan 10-13
Interested quizzers must have their coach contact Ernie Munchinsky- team coordinator by December 3. Brandon Meet Feb 1-3 Coaches can now reserve in advance the number of bus seats they require for their teams by sending a cheque payable to Canadian Midwest Quizzing to our treasurer Angela Gabruch. The cost is $60 per person from either city with buses leaving Saskatoon (CDA parking lot) by noon and Regina (Living Hope parking lot) by 3pm. Material Change Quizzing material for the rescheduled Brandon Meet will now include the first chapter of Philippians as well as the books of Galatians and Ephesians. All quizzes will be 20 questions. CMQ committees require further discussion regarding the policy of forcing all B finalist teams up into the A division for this meet. As deliberation on new proposals continue we still strongly encourage the top quizzers of our B divisions to participate on teams registered in the A division. The current policy (see website about us) calculates an individual's district yearly average (also needed for Great West) on only A division quizzes. Please keep this in mind as you prepare for the Brandon meet. Sunday, November 11, 2007Ist District Meet Change
An important date change has been made for all quizzing teams in The Cdn Midwest District. The meet originally scheduled for Jan 25-27 2008 has been moved to one weekend later Feb 1-3. It will take place at McDiarmid Alliance Church in Brandon Manitoba. Some bus reservations from Regina and Saskatoon will be available with early payment to CMQ of $60 per person.
Monday, October 29, 2007November Zone Meets

It looks like we will have more people at the Regina meet than the Swift Current meet. If there are any churches that were invited to the Regina meet that would be willing and available to attend the Nov.16-18 meet in Swift Current instead of the Nov.9-11 meet at Westhill Park, please contact the registration email address below.
